Coping with Prostate Cancer

Purpose / Objectives

Primary Outcome

With the planned study it should be examined:

decisioning

personality

disease fear

coping strategy

in patients with prostate cancer who must decide for

radicale Prostatectomy (RP), radiotherapy (RT) and Active Surveillance (AS)

and which factors influence the Life of Quality on a long term Basis.

Diagnosis

local Prostate cancer, low risk

Patient attributes

Age

18-75

Inclusion criteria

–     local protstate cancer ≤ cT2a

–     PSA ≤10ng/ml

–     Gleason-Score ≤ 7a (3+4)

–     Tumor in ≤ 2 swages

–     maximum 50 % tumor in one swage

–     Age ≤ 75 Jahre

–     diagnosis ≤ 3 month

–     for invasive therapy (RP or RT): before therapy

Exclusion criteria

–      insufficient german

–      serious physical or psychiatric comorbidity

–      no informed consent
